From: "Me" <publius@mpinet.net>
I purchased a complete computer system from Computer City in May of 1998. At the time I also purchased a 3-year warranty that states specifically that it covers the "complete system purchased together, including printer, scanner, monitor, etc.," Well, last month (6/99) my printer went down. Now CompUsa (who bought out Computer City) tells me a) they will not honor my warranty because although I do have receipts showing I purchased all the items as a complete system at the same time, because the store printed the items on separate receipts, the warranty only covers the items mentioned on the receipt which includes mention of the warranty; (b), that Aon Innovative solutions (who purchased the warranties from CompUsa [who themselves were obliged to honor them when CompUsa purchased Computer City]) will only honor warranties for items purchased before November of 1997, and c), that the salespersons should have informed me that there were several differing warranties available and that the amount of warranty I purchased covers only the computer, and not the complete system despite that my warranty and it s contract conditions speak of no such differing plans! Finally, after lengthy discussions with CompUsa Customer Service and Aon Innovative Solutions (who are also known as Aon Warranty Group), I have been told that if I hope for any actual satisfaction concerning this matter, it will only be obtained IF I SUE THEM! So
I shall! Anyone else having been treated likewise by CompUsa, Computer
City, Aon Innovative Solutions or Aon Warranty Group should contact me
at Publius@mpinet.net to be considered for inclusion within my soon to
be filed class action suit against the before mentioned parties.
