Just recently I've had a Damark scamming experience.  They billed my husband's credit card without prior authorization for a membership that was on a canceled card.  I *know* they tried to get me on the phone about this.  A month or so ago my husband answered a called tagged "available" on Caller ID.   When they asked for me and he asked who was calling, they squirmed but finally told him and he told them they had the wrong number (I asked to be put on their "do not call" list years ago).

You may be interested to know that Damark "settled" with the State of Minnesota in December regarding these practices as "an Assurance of Discontinuance reached before the filing of a lawsuit".  I faxed my letter to Damark just today to the Attorney General of Minnesota along with the URL for The Web Bad, Better & Best Businesses Bulletin Board complaints.  The details
of the settlement are at:
http://members.dencity.com/consumerama/AGdamark.htm.

I contested the charge on my husband's card with the credit card company and I demanded a "double refund" from Damark as per the settlement, and demanded that they cease all business with me, and I am urging others who have been deceived to do likewise.  For what it's worth, I noted that I cc'ed my letter to the AG of Minnesota.  We'll see how these weasels respond.  This SHOULD NOT be happening, and I can scarcely believe how many people are being scammed after the December settlement.
