This the second or third year
in a row that I have had to renew my non-renewal of membership with Damark
Membership Services. After reading your and other similiar complaints Re:
Damark. Initially I called the "authorized non-renewal number" and was
on hold for a lengthy period. I hung on as the messages turned to excuses
to finally a person answering with an ordinary Hello. She seemed surprised
that someone would wait through all the pre-recorded BS, then she politely
told me she could not access any account information and told me to call
back next week. I called my credit card company, in this case Texaco, and
explained my consternation to them. I asked for a complaint department
which was unavailable, but they did provide another 800 number for Damark
with an automated membership cancellation service. I was assured my membership
has been cancelled. This appears to be much more helpful than anything
offered by Damark. I realize this is probably rubbing salt in a wound but
I don't possess the computer where-with-all to pass this bit of possibly
helpful information on. If you can and you agree this might be helpful
pass it on.
